Got an ancient (or newer) website but not really sure what it’s doing? There are many things that will affect overall website performance.
We can provide a quality written review of your website with recommendations.
We can help you with:
Convert Your Website to WordPress
Many small businesses start with a website built on a proprietary platform such as WIX, or Weebly or Square Space. There are many reasons you should not use these platforms for your business website.
The main reason we prefer WordPress is it is an open source platform which means that there are thousands of programmers and coders out there making themes, plugins and providing support for it on a daily basis. If you are not happy with your hosting company, you can packup your site and move in a matter of hours. Likewise, giving it a complete makeover is easily accomplished in this open source environment. We find WordPress gives you the control and flexibility needed by small business.
In contrast a proprietary platform such as WIX, is just that – proprietary. You are in effect married to them and cannot move your website to another host if you choose. Further, if something happens to WIX, say they get hacked or go out of business, it is not possible for you to simply move your website to another hosting company and keep going like nothing happened. Your website could be out of commission and out of your control, or worse, lost. We simply do not think this is an acceptable business risk for your online presence.
Improve Navigation, Check Broken Links
Have you ever visited a restaurant’s website to find out where they are, and cannot find their phone number or address easily?
Easy navigation is a website’s life blood. If your potential customers cannot find the information they want easily, or worse cannot contact you easily, they are likely to go elsewhere.
Broken links are frustrating for visitors and a navigation dead end. Our tools will search your site and advise of any broken links.
Responsive Website (re)Design
If your site is not responsive, then you will be missing out as over 50% of searches are now done on mobile devices. Google has preferred responsive websites since 2012 [Huff Post] as it provides a better user experience, known in the industry as “UX”. If you like your current site, we can simply update it to be mobile responsive.
Site speed and Page speed
This measures about how fast your website is delivered to a visitor. Too slow and they will ‘bounce’ (hit the go back key) and goodbye potential customer. This is an important measure for Google and faster site speeds can help your ‘google ranking’.
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
SEO is about increasing the quantity and quality of traffic to your website through better organic search engine results.
All major search engines provide users with results ranked based on what the search engine considers most relevant. These are called organic search results. Obviously, the higher ranked sites gain the most clicks (visitors = potential customers).
Whilst there are many elements of Googles ranking algorithms that are out of your control, there are some known to help as they also help visitors to your site. Proper on-site SEO helps users quickly and clearly understand what your site is about and whether it addresses their search query. This in turn results in more time-on-page, more click throughs and feeds back to Google that your page is useful and worthy of ranking well.
